Happy New YearToday, Dec. 18, Muslims mark a new Islamic year, 1431 A.H. Jews marked their new year on Sept. 19 for the year 5770, and the Christian world will mark a new year on Friday, Jan. 1 - 2010 A.D.

We at the Canadian Charger want to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and thank our readers for their support during our first 21 weeks of publication.

We at the Charger wish for a better year:

a Canada that is more compassionate toward its poor, sick, unemployed, homeless, very young, Natives and all marginalized minorities.

We wish for justice and peace in the world, and for the killing machines in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Yemen, Somalia, and Iraq to stop.

We will be taking some time off and not publish for the next two weeks.

See you on Jan. 7, 2010.
